Please note, there will be a new page on this blog dedicated to this car. I’ll add it later.
So I went out and got me a Nissan 240sx again. Why? Well, I wanted a car and I wanted it to be fast if possible. A deal came by and what do you know? I ended up picking one up from Scooter Jones just in time for the weather to start getting bad. He was working on making it less ghetto and now it’s a halfway decent driver. It has a Redtop SR20DET with the stock turbo, Greddy Oil Pan, Blitz B.O.V., Circuit Sports Test Pipe, Removable Steering Wheel (thanks for the wheel Scooter) with Circuit Sports hub and bracket, and frame rails that would make most MN drifters jealous.

The engine as it is now, at the time of sale.
I have this idea in my head of what the car will end up looking like, but I should stress that this is going to be a long term build. I am broke. Right now I’m REALLY broke actually so buying aero, wheels, lots of little blingy bits, is really not in the cards for me at the moment. Maybe later, but not now.
To start, here’s a bunch of fuses that had to be replaced. Not sure what the previous owner was thinking… Scott bought the car and never drove it. He didn’t own it for long.

I see a problem. Melted fuses are not going to help you get anywhere…
This sort of thing makes me think; maybe I should put together a list of crap that needs to be done on this car to make it the way I want it. Better yet, a list of things that are wrong before I can start making it rad.
-Windshield wipers only work on high speed
-Wipers don’t stop at the lowered position
-No reservoir for wiper fluid (winter is coming)
-No breather filter on valve cover
-No fan shroud for stock clutch fan
-Blow off valve is adjusted WAY loose so I sound like a moron even at low boost
-Stock springs cut in all 4 corners
-Stock struts blown in all 4 corners
-Diff = welded (maybe that’s now “wrong”)
-Speedo is only in Kilometers/Hour
-Stock water temp gauge doesn’t work and engine may be running hot
-No speakers in the car
-No rear deck interior panel
-Brown drivers seat in a car with a blue interior
-Dash is from a car with a black interior. VIN # is partially drilled out
-No kick panels to hide wiring/ecu/fuses
-No foot rest for clutch foot
-Battery was relocated to the trunk, but not to a place that makes sense to me
-Clutch engages in an uncomfortable spot for my foot
-Front fenders are black
-Rear fenders are partially painted black
-Stock paint is completely faded
-Turbo elbow is missing a stud where it meets the downpipe causing an exhaust leak
-Pink valve cover
-Evidence of old racing vinyl in weird places
I will admit that that’s a lot of stuff. Most of it is little stuff though and when I get it all dealt with, the car will be stock enough for me to be happy actually putting some work into.

What is this steering wheel? I haven’t even bothered to look it up yet.

Circuit Sports steering wheel hub I bought.
The pipe dream for now, is a dark blue, wide bodied, kitted car with deep dish wheels powder coated grey (including the lip). Evil. I like my cars to look evil.
For now, I have a boost gauge and water temp gauge under the seat that I should hook up and Scott has some speakers that I can snatch up. Riding around with no tunes is not a good look. I’ll post more pics as I start working on things, but I figured I should at least introduce the project.
True, there are no shots of the car overall but that’s because it’s been raining non stop for the last 2 days. As soon as it’s not wet, I’ll snap a couple pics.
Thanks for looking!
