Andy McKee – “Rylynn”

Wow.  This guy was suggested to me about a year ago and he seriously has some talent.  No words, just acoustic guitar.  This song was really got me into his music.  Go buy the CD or download it from iTunes when you get the chance.  I believe he is self-taught, and he explores different ways to make the guitar sing.   This one made the list because of both the melodic and rhythm of the track.

The Phantom’s Revenge – “Absolute Ego Riot”

8 minutes of pure genius.  You gotta hand it to French house.  This guy is one of the new sounds out of France right now with a distinct style and some killer cuts.  It might sound like a skipping CD at first but listen to it once, then listen to it again.  It gets especially good @ 3:00; pay special attention to how he cuts and mixes 5:30 to the end.

AndyGuestBlogger Andy Vu is a good friend of ours and I asked him to choose some songs for this weeks “Song of the Day” picks.   We share a love of house music and have been to a couple of notable shows together.

I hope you all can dig his picks for song of the day this week.  He said that this is going to be a “variety pack” of tunes.  I expect it will be sort of all over the place.  I put up his posts all at once and scheduled them throughout the week, so I have a hint of what’s to come but I haven’t heard it all either.  Should be fun to hear it all new with you guys!

Thanks for taking the time Andy!
