Heiruspecs in Chicago – THAT JUST HAPPENED
Thanks to all you guys that came out. A big thank you to the ClubFR people who came out including half of Grip Gamblers (http://www.gripgambler.com/blog/). We always love coming down to Chicago because we have so many friends and family members there.
Usually I try to take a lot of photo’s at our shows and I am finding that I need a new camera… here’s what I got.
This is Treologic – They have opened for us before but this was def. their strongest showing we’ve ever seen. They keep getting better and better.
Next up was Rubblebucket Orchestra. They’re an east coast based band that just has to be heard to be believed. I am listening to their album as I type this. Amazing!
Then…
Awwww…. we love you guys too!
A celebration of birth – Yours Truly
So, last Friday was my birthday and I turned… OLD. Don’t worry about it.
After a long day at work, I went out to dinner with some really close friends and of course my family. MOSCOW ON THE HILL.

After dinner, I said goodbye to my family and went out to see more of my friends at Barrio in Downtown St. Paul. It’s just a hop skip and a jump away from dinner so I got there in NO time. People think DT St. Paul is dead… they’re wrong. You just have to come down and check things out. There are pockets of life that are growing.
This place was BUSY before we got there.

Yes, I was drinking…

FUCK YOU I’M AN ANTEATER!!!!

It was a good night. Thanks to everyone who came out! I’m swore off drinking for a while. But apparently I just meant I wouldn’t have a drink the next MORNING. The next night, ELKO.
Get Cryphy! 10/2 Rememberances….
My pics all SUCK because I was buzzed and apparently hit the Macro button on my camera…
Preparty at Psycho Suzie’s
Then immediately on to 1st Ave for GET CRYPHY. My friend Jimmy 2 Times has been hosting this for a while now and it continues to rock. I like the whole no Brads or Sallys policy on the flyer. My friends and I get to have a good time without the douche vibe that Minneapolis is getting famous for.

Scooter Jones Place in the Woods
So, this weekend we went up to Scott’s cabin. It was half of TMF Opposition and Mandrew that went. Basically, I bought 1100 rounds for the .22 that’s up there and realized that I didn’t make good on my goal to buy a hunting rifle or AR15 in time for this trip. We also brought a ton of booze and we all pre-arranged our responsibility to cover meals.
The cabin is in Hawthorne Wisconsin and it takes about 3 hours to get there. We had a ton of fun, wandering the logging roads by the cabin and attempting to fish. I say attempt because I finally bought fishing gear and had an expirament with how tangled I can get the line to be. (Did you read that Asha? Call me instead of texting… LOL). We went up to the south shore of Superior, which from what I could see is far more beach like than the north shore is on the whole.
At any rate, we drank a lot, killed wood ticks, and took a ton of photo’s along the way. Here’s some random one’s I took. I’m sure Keith’s photo’s will be FAR better than mine and I’ll post a link over to his site when I see them go up. Enjoy…

We were using the telescope to sight our shots and tell if we hit targets that were too far away to see by eye. It’s easy enough to see when you hit a can (or a can of spraypaint) but not so easy to know that you just hit a bullseye on a target in the woods on the other side of the clearing.

A RARE shot of Keith in the wild…

Bryce and his “walking stick”…

When I leaned in to get this shot, it was obvious that there were a LOT of bee’s living in the roof of this car over the back seat. The whole car was just a constant hum. Couldn’t see them at all though.

This old house was abandoned in the woods near Scott’s cabin. There’s still furniture and all kinds of stuff in it. You can’t access it from any road and it’s totally collapsed. In the basement, you can see parts of the floor from the upstairs.

We went to the south shore and found the mouth of a river that runs by the cabin. There was this info board talking about the lost community that used to occupy these shores and how they collapsed. Mind you, the whole time we were there, we were drinking so…

The next morning, Keith and I – the old men of the group – woke up early and since there was no Denny’s to go to, we wandered away…

Our wandering was fun and not long. We woke up the rest of the crew with the sounds of gunfire. They all came up to eat and join the fun…

Ahem.

After romping through the woods, we decided to head toward the Apostle Islands and spend the afternoon in Bayfield. We debated actually going to Madeline Island, the largest of them, but bitched out on taking the ferry accross the waters of Superior. Moreso here than I’ve ever felt before, Superior is really a sea even if it’s technically a lake. We could have been looking at small island nation out in the water. I regret not taking any real pics of the sorroundings but, Bayfield is a city built on a hill facing out east toward the Islands.

Look at this Hannah;

We had fun walking around the piers and such.

We went back, drank, and slept. The next day we made a traditional stop on the way home… You’ll have to look up Keith’s post later for more details.

Leegrodamus – The celebration of birth
Ah, the end of the work week. Can’t be mad at that can you? I love working 7-4. It makes my days feel longer and better. After work, I rushed home and loaded up the iPod with party music.
So it’s last friday night, I went over to Leego’s house for his birthday. We have been talking about it for a while and because the house is so close to the UofM, we figured it should be a college style party. You know darn well none of us is currently in college. Whatever.
When Lee picked me up, we headed straight over. I had an iPod full of loud rap music and was bringing equipment that would allow me to rap through the speakers at some point in the evening. Sounds like fun. We pull up and Scooter is already outside with a keg in the back of his truck. The keg was quickly tapped and as people started showing up, Lee declared everyone had to do a keg stand. Dude, I haven’t been to a party like this in about 10 years. LOL.

apropriately blurry

More on this one later…. LOL!

After being there for about an hour, some strange girl shows up with a cup and asks for a beer. She explains that she has been dared to steal beer from our keg. Well, it’s not really stealing if you ask, but why not give her some. There’s another party accross the street. Someone’s 21st birthday apparently and she was invading our party. So Jeremy and I returned the favor. A bunch of girls and jello shots. Again – 10 years. HAHA!!! Check out the cakes! Dinosaur Cakes with Graham Cracker spinal spikes. Radical…

More drinking ensues and eventually I start rapping. Because I was rapping, I don’t have any photo’s. More people are still showing up and as things are progressing, everyone who hasn’t met is becoming friends. Perfect.
The girls from the party accross the street must have gotten bored because eventually I start seeing them mixing in. Good times.

Happy birthday Lee. Good luck finding your iPhone.
Happy hangover Andrew and Scott.
The Pre-Party – Saturday Escapades
I just noticed Scott is hiding in this photo!!!!!

So Leegro and I stopped out at Scotts house to hang out for a minute before stepping down town. This night of partying serves as my last hoorah for a little while. I have to stack cash for a secret project. Can you dig that?
Out in TMF spot 2 Garage — This may be one of the last times you ever see this car as a TMF whip.

I can’t show you people the other side of this garage. Crazyness is going on over here…
MelZilla showed up and we rolled downtown to meet up with a gang of people. Logan boys in effect.
