Fucking Out of Control Eating – FOCE or FOOCE????   Not sure how to abbreviate it.

(insert airhorn sound here)

This weekend after the Heiruspecs show in Chicago, I hung out with the Grip Gamblers and John for a while.  I stayed around and took the megabus home which allowed me to do several important things.  (EXPLOSION!)

One, I worked out a revolutionary educational concept that involves guns, airhorns, explosions and creative overdubbing in real time.  I have no time to explain right now.  More later….  maybe.   We were talking about many things and I’m just glad we came up with this concept in our time together.  (no homo)

Two, I got a chance to eat and enjoy a lot of Chicago awesomeness.  This seems to happen every time I go down there and I keep meaning to do it more often.   Nothing crazy expensive, just everything crazy good.  (WE EATIN’!!!) The pic above is of Simba eating blueberry pancakes.  Total success!  Who cares what the table says?  Below is a Bacon Loretta.  Jealous?  There is talk of starting a food blog with some of the gamblers.  For trill.

Three, stay at the Grip Gambler house.  This is mainly awesome because the house is just a relic of the 70′s (HISTORY!!!!) with felt and chrome wallpaper, wood paneling, vintage house wide stereo, etc.  It helps that friends live there and that several bad ass cars are based there.  It doesn’t help that psychobitch is waiting outside for Eric when we arrive there at 3:30am and refuses to leave until 4:30.  (MACHINE GUN SOUND)  Eric is going to sleep honey….  reunite with your daddy.  Here’s my room!

Lastly, I got a chance to work on a house track for the first time in a long time on the way home.  (AIR RAID SIREN) I’ve never taken the Megabus and my journey didn’t start until after 10pm so it was a long quiet ride home with my laptop and headphones.  Nothing to write home about but it felt good.

Good times.

Thanks to all you guys that came out. A big thank you to the ClubFR people who came out including half of Grip Gamblers (http://www.gripgambler.com/blog/). We always love coming down to Chicago because we have so many friends and family members there.

Usually I try to take a lot of photo’s at our shows and I am finding that I need a new camera… here’s what I got.

This is Treologic – They have opened for us before but this was def. their strongest showing we’ve ever seen. They keep getting better and better.

Next up was Rubblebucket Orchestra. They’re an east coast based band that just has to be heard to be believed. I am listening to their album as I type this. Amazing!

Then…

Awwww…. we love you guys too!

This is short and sweet because Men generally get the shaft in fashion. The heavy theme is still trending toward black and white colors with much less interesting patterns. Plaid will still be the prevailing pattern out there and the materials are more classic. Keeping to jeans and cottons mostly with a few blingy pieces here. High tops/boots and suspenders are going to keep coming up. Here are a few highlights again taken entirely from www.wwd.com as I cruise through their comprehensive coverage of runway shows ending last week.

Here you can see that it wasn’t ALL black and white, but even K-Mart and Sears are picking up the trend and running with it. I think my favorite simple line was the Cloak and Dagger show. Marc Jacobs showed some almost african print inspired stuff and amped up the color quite a bit. All of this is from www.wwd.com and their coverage of the later part of NY Fashion Week. Next up, Mens stuff. There’s not that much of it, but I’ll get you highlights tomorrow. Word.

So I’ve been watching www.wwd.com like a hawk to see what new stuff is coming out for the coming spring. I have mostly been on the lookout to see what the colors for spring and summer are going to be. I noticed that there’s a heavy black and white theme going on with splashes of color here and there. For this past fall, it was berry colors that every one was about. Now the black and white thing will take over. Fashion Week is a good indicator. Here are some of my favorite images from WWD from the early coverage of fashion week.

Check it out.
