Calvin Harris – “Acceptable in the 80s”

This one made the list for two major reasons: 1. I am currently digging British electronica now 2. I played this game this last weekend called Rayman Rabbid Rabbits TV Party and this song happened to be on it and reminded me of Calvin’s work. I mostly attributed to the latter reason.

Before Keith agreed to do my songs of the day last week, I was going to do a house themed week. He picked some of the same stuff I did – Shapeshifters – Armand Van Helden – for example, but I had already picked some other stuff. I can’t just let it go to waste now can I? Here’s what I would have run if Keith hadn’t stepped in. I was trying to keep to a summery theme since we have run out of warm weather here in MN…. enjoy!

Yeah. See my description for Tues. I’m a Trance DJ at heart, I can’t escape bass lines or booming synths. This has a great emotional yet disco feel to it with a breakdown that will move even the most hardened music critic.

This is another track that is victim to the remix plague. There are dozens out there that destroy most of what is good about the original cut. Stick with the original I say. Classic never goes out of style.

Volume was pushed by Jimmy 2 Times, Fundo, So Gold, and yours truly. It was a blast to do old school crowd hyping and listen to 3 amazing DJ’s mash up big rap songs into dance music and vice versa. There were a lot of friends and a lot of good dancers in the building and as the Maria Isa show got finished, the place became fully packed.
