Keith was at the Healy Hillclimb again this year so Eboun and I headed out to say hello and see how things were going. The weather was not really co-operative for the event I’m sad to say so I didn’t venture too far with the camera. I did get a few shots in the pit, while the drivers were in the pre-race meeting.
I met up with TMF Keith and Lone Wolf Andrew down at Elko to see how they do on a testing day. Keith is still shaking down his Cressida and Andrew is tuning his rebuilt car on his fancy new Haltech set up. For Keith, there wasn’t much action, but Andrew seemed to have a ball. So, last Friday was my birthday and I turned… OLD. Don’t worry about it.
After a long day at work, I went out to dinner with some really close friends and of course my family. MOSCOW ON THE HILL.
After dinner, I said goodbye to my family and went out to see more of my friends at Barrio in Downtown St. Paul. It’s just a hop skip and a jump away from dinner so I got there in NO time. People think DT St. Paul is dead… they’re wrong. You just have to come down and check things out. There are pockets of life that are growing.
This place was BUSY before we got there.

It was a good night. Thanks to everyone who came out! I’m swore off drinking for a while. But apparently I just meant I wouldn’t have a drink the next MORNING. The next night, ELKO.

Guest Blogger & SOTD: Junior Jack: Thrill Me
Nothing I pick here is going to make me happy, too many I could have included but this will have to do. Seems fitting to pick this track (and video) to follow Entra Mi Casa and the release date is in the same neighborhood as my departure from the scene.
This is another banger of a track, nothing you’d start a set off with. It has some great Tech-House elements with a classic French feel too. (For the puritans, this is out of Belgium.) Was surprised to see a produced video for this. Interesting.

Guest Blogger & SOTD: Armand Van Helden: Entra Mi Casa
You decide. Almost Ghetto House, definitely Latin, definitely Tribal…definitely good. I’m not a huge Armand Van Helden fan but you have to admit he has some hits. This track in particular was huge for the “shocking” vocals and the late, unexpected tweaked horns. Those horns, that beat, the underlying percussion. Ugh, I’m banging my head listening to it while I type this right now. I really hope you’re listening with some good speakers to pick up the full effect. You totally forgot about those vocals, didn’t you? And that’s why the track is so good. The porno sample idea has been used way too often and is rarely pulled off. I love exceptions that prove the rule.
